How to Live Your Truth After a Major Life Transition

Life is beginning to settle into new routines.

After a tidal wave of transition, I can finally feel the water calming around me. A new house. Career changes. New habits, new rhythms, new experiences. And still, some of the changes keep unfolding.

When Change Arrives as a Tidal Wave

Here is what I have noticed about big transitions. They rarely come one at a time.

A move becomes a career shift. A career shift reshapes your days. Your days reshape your habits, and suddenly the woman who used to know exactly how her mornings went is learning a whole new rhythm.

I call this a tidal wave of life transition. It is not one change. It is many, arriving together, and they ask something of you that is hard to name.

If you are in the middle of one right now, I want you to know that feeling unsteady does not mean something is wrong with you. It means you are in motion.

The Quiet Space After the Wave

Now that things are beginning to settle, a different kind of question has surfaced for me.

What’s next?

What am I letting go of as this transition continues? What do I want to create from all of this change? I find myself thinking about my wellbeing, the direction of my business, and how I connect with other people.

I am also asking the softer, braver questions. What do I want to experience? What are my dreams and desires? And am I taking the actions that create them?

This is the space many of us meet after a season of change. The noise quiets, and the questions get louder. I have come to believe that is not a problem. It is an invitation.

Who Am I Becoming?

The question I keep returning to is this: what does living my truth mean to me right now, after these changes and these new experiences?

Not who I was before the wave. Not who I think I am supposed to be. Who am I becoming, and am I becoming who I want to be?

Here is the shift in perspective that steadies me. We are always becoming. We are always creating. Today you are more than you were yesterday, and tomorrow you are more than you are today.

You are not starting over. You are building on everything you have already lived, and you get to decide what this next chapter holds.

Three Gentle Ways to Listen

You do not need a plan to answer these questions. You only need a little presence. Here are three ways to begin:

  • Name what you are releasing. Sit quietly and ask what no longer belongs in this chapter. A routine, a role, an old story about who you are. Let whatever rises be enough.
  • Name what you want to experience. Not what you think you should want. What do you truly desire? Write it down in your own words, however small or big it feels.
  • Notice where you already are living it. Where in your days do you feel most like yourself? Let that moment be a clue to your inner guidance.

Being present in what you are doing today is also a way of staying aware of your future dreams. The two are not separate. Presence is where your desires begin to take shape.

Living Your Truth in This Season

Living your truth is not a destination you arrive at once and keep forever. It changes as you change. What it meant five years ago may not be what it means today, and that is exactly how it is meant to be.

So I will leave you with the same questions I am asking myself:

What is it that you want?

Are you living your truth in this season?

What does living your truth mean to you right now?

Take a breath. There is no rush to answer. Let your inner wisdom speak in its own time. You already hold more of the answer than you realize.

If you would like gentle support as you listen inward, my free WILD! Wisdom and Awareness Workbook is an invitation to begin, whenever you feel ready.
